We have two exciting opportunities for additional equine vets to join our dedicated and friendly team of 10 large animal vets in Warwickshire. This opportunity is open to graduates and experienced vets.

608 Equine and Farm is an ambitious independent practice with a varied equine clientele ranging from international sport horses to pleasure horses, with a substantial portion of geriatrics and donkeys. As a BEVA-accredited AI practice we also have an ever-increasing stud caseload, so these roles would be ideal for someone with an interest in reproductive work.

Both roles are mainly ambulatory, but with a rising clinic-based caseload with support from the other vets and the nursing team. Case continuity where possible is important to us and so our vets have the freedom to manage their own diaries and client relationships. We also provide veterinary cover at several equestrian venues including Solihull Riding Club.

The rota is 1 in 5 weeknights (paid in addition to salary) but no 1st on-call weekends. 2nd on-call weekends is on a voluntary basis and paid at £200 per day. Taking over the weekend rota entitles the vet to a 4.5 day every week, with Monday PM off following the weekend on call.

We are a people-focused practice, valuing the continued development of our staff and our excellent team dynamic. While experience would be beneficial, the right person for our team is essential and so new or recent graduates are welcome to apply. Previous stud work would be useful but not essential. Part-time applications may also be considered for the right candidate.

About Us

We have a purpose-built treatment room with stocks and two stables as well as an extensive range of portable equipment available for complete ambulatory practice including DR X-ray units, modern scanners, a gastroscope and smaller endoscope, a diode laser unit and a shockwave machine. We also have the equipment to perform advanced dental work and in-house facilities for haematology and biochemistry testing.

We strive for excellence in clinical practice and are committed to the ongoing education of all our staff and clients. We have regular clinical meetings and in-house CPD, and encourage case discussions and the sharing of information from visiting medical and surgical specialists. We encourage our vets and nurses to explore their areas of interest and support any further qualifications.
