Employment Type:
Full Time
Role:
Veterinary Surgeon
Required Experience:
+3 years experience

We are a privately owned, independent mixed practice seeking an experienced Small Animal Vet to work as a Clinical Director across our expanding practices in Syston and Melton Mowbray.

Offering support and leadership to the branch managers and your clinical colleagues along with mentorship to our graduates, you would strive to combine the provision of exceptional, bespoke and affordable care with progressive current best practice in veterinary medicine. The successful candidate will already hold or be working towards a medicine or surgery certificate. Certificates are strongly encouraged as our clients would much prefer an increase in our internal expertise.

As part of our continual expansion and development, we have recently completed renovations at our Syston practice and are currently seeking general practice status through the RCVS practice standards scheme at this site. Our Melton Mowbray practice moves to new premises in the coming months to increase our hospital provision. A key part of this role will be to support these transitions as we anticipate further growth due to investment in expansion of our services. Our administrative team, including HR, H&S and finance is there to support and guide you in all the non-clinical aspects of the business.

We offer a four-day week as a good work-life balance is essential to maintain the high demands of veterinary life. Time for administration will be built into your working week and the diary is always adjusted to make way for important appointments, family events and emergencies.

We take pride in caring for our own patients out of hours on an equally shared rota, maximum of 1:5 though currently 1:7. Along with the Monday off after your on-call, the three-day weekend following this is popular among our team.

If you have excellent communication skills, are ambitious and driven, work to a very high standard, value clinical discretion, would like to be part of a forward-thinking independent practice and work with a great supportive team, then we would love to hear from you!

In addition to all the above we offer:

  • An attractive salary circa 65-85k with a 4-day week
  • RCVS fees and Full VDS
  • Certificates encouraged and fully funded
  • 5 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • Leadership & business development
  • Free flu jabs and VDU eye care vouchers
  • Employee assistance program
  • Relocation allowance
  • Generous CPD allowance
  • Staff discount scheme
  • Team social events
  • Pension
