Veterinary Women In Leadership to present career stories panel discussion at BVA Live

25 Apr 2022

Veterinary Women In Leadership (VWIL), a collaborative initiative between Veterinary Woman and XLVets, will be presenting a panel discussion session at BVA Live focusing on women’s leadership journeys within the veterinary industry. The session will showcase three unique career stories – with opportunities for Q&A – to encourage and facilitate strong, healthy and successful leadership by providing a safe space for attendees to share aspirations, thoughts and opinions. The event will take place at BVA Live in the Career Debate Theatre between 14:30 – 15:30 pm on 23rd June 2022, and those interested in attending can find out more here.

Entitled “Leadership Stories: If you can see it, you can be it” the in-person session will consist of career stories from successful female leaders within the veterinary field, with plenty of opportunity for Q&A and discussion with like-minded professionals.

Jenny Langridge, acting editor of Veterinary Woman, will be hosting the event alongside Dr Alice Moore, small animal vet at Garston Veterinary Group and Project Manager at XLVets. Jenny explains how this event offers delegates an empowering opportunity to galvanize their own career paths, “When thinking about our own career aspirations, it’s really encouraging to see how others have developed into leadership roles and take inspiration from the variety of different career stories.”

The speaker line-up for the event includes three inspiring role models – Jo Oakden, Business Support Manager at Vet Partners; Liz Munro, Clinical Director at Palmerston Vet Hospital and Eve Thomas, Director at Builth Wells Veterinary Practice.

Each speaker will share their own personal leadership journey and explain what the term leadership means to them. Attendees will be provided with valuable insight into the many different forms of leadership success to help support their own leadership development pathways.

Jo Oakden says she is proud to be part of this exciting event, “Leadership is vital to the success of the veterinary profession, and I think it’s crucial that women share their success stories to empower one another and help other women aspire to leadership roles.”

For BVA Live attendees, there is no need to sign-up for this session and those interested in the event can simply attend on the day. For more information, visit: https://bvalive.vetshow.com/.
